Operations will start in March

Investigate, develop and commercialize software services based on new technologies is the objective of the technology consortium that the Technology Information and Communication Chamber (Camtic, in Spanish), the Link Program and the Exterior Commerce Promoter (Procomer, in Spanish) are launching.

The group will do tasks such as quality control, project management, web marketing, web design, software developing, training and technical consultation, and applications integration. The initiative, announced in 2009, has 110 people working and it is called IT Innovation Group.

“We are the first consortium in the IT area that start working in Costa Rica”, assured Ignacio Castro, Cluster Director. According to the IT Innovation Group Director, Angie Jiménez Corella in a “mid term we are looking to make our services possible and accessible in an international market level, and in a long term, we are going to investigate and develop software based on new technologies”.

The group has the participation of Coral Technologies, Gearssoft, Consortium Sysco-Eprom, Internexo, Efibs and Lesoft, all enterprises of the information technology sector.
