Last January was the third consecutive month to show an improvement in the admission of meter square of construction of Real Estate in Costa Rica in the Federated College of Engineers and Architects (CFIA).

While in January 2009 there were only 411,081 meter square submitted, by the same month of this year there were 631,545 meter square, an increment of 53%.

The Province of Puntarenas shows the biggest amount of processes during the first month of the year. This is mainly impulse by the commercial and urban projects, with nearly 200,000 meter square.

In fact, the two cantons with the most registration during January 2010 correspond to the province of Puntarenas: Monte de Oro (100,090 m2) and Osa (68,867 m2).

During the first month of the year, the commercial, dwelling and urban projects concentrate 80% of the total processing (31%, 25% aand 25% respectively). In other words, the Costa Rica property is getting bigger this year.
