Google announced, in New York, that is taking into consideration to install its seventh commercial office in Latin America. It could be in Costa Rica, Panama or Puerto Rico.
The announcement was given from the Google CEO for the region, Alexandre Hohagen to the EFE agency. He announced the opening of the 6th office for Google located in Peru, and now looking forward to open the 7th office. The other five offices are in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico.
To justify these openings, Google analyzes the internet access habits from the people from other countries.
After the announcement of the opening of the 6th office in Peru, the next step is to open a new office in Central America and the Caribbean.
“We are studying it internally, to see which of the three countries has more sense. We will be taken the decision in two weeks”, assured the executive to the news agency.
In which of the countries where Google has commercial offices, the firm hires locals “to initiate all sales work, developing new business and contact with the press and the government”, added Hohagen.
In Latin America, 85% of the people look in the net for contents via Google, which supposes a superior fee over the United States, for example; where is used only in a 65,7%, according to comScore.
“One of the advantages that we have in Latin America is still being a region with a low penetration of the Internet around the 25% of the population”, highlighted Hohagen.
