In Costa Rica one of the mayor concerns of the population it's the social security, thanks to the govern support the levels of the crime have started to decrease.

The amount of homicides, robberies and crimes finally started decreasing, after 5 year of constant insecurity said the Judicial Investigation Department(OIJ because of its name in spanish).

The population in these last 5 years growed from 4 millions to 4,5 millions, that makes this social security increment to be a more outstanding achievement.

The principal reasons of why the security in Costa Rica it's getting better it's that the security budget increased from ¢100 thousand millions to ¢157 thousand millions. This great investment has allowed the country to provide more resources to the police.

Also Costa Rica is investing in a more holistic approach that has helped to drastically reduce the number of crimes; like instead of putting emphasis on repressive activities the goverment it's investing in programs to keep the levels of school desertions very low, and they're giving a strong impulse to the preventive campaings.

The security budget growth should continue in the coming years and more importantly, the improvement of social conditions should be encouraged, because poverty and income inequality are certainly factors that improve the levels of criminals.

The Govern its planning a new public campaign to keep reducing the social insecurity in Costa Rica.
