Costa Rica is the land that will host the FIFA Women's U-17 World Cup of 2014.

The president of FIFA announced yesterday in the middle of the FIFA Congress the historic designation for this World Cup in Costa Rica.

This tournament, the fourth in the history of this category, it's played like all junior tournaments every two years, with the participation of 16 teams. Eduardo Li, president of the Costa Rican Football Federation, along with Yolanda Camacho and Silvia Poll, from the government, were the people who represented the country at the time of the designation.

This opportunity of hosting a World Cup Tournament in Central America will not only develop women's football in Costa Rica, but also throughout Central America".

The first Women's World Cup U-17 was played in 2008 in New Zealand then it took place in Trinidad and Tobago, while Azerbaijan will host in 2012. In 2008 the champion was North Korea and the one of 2010 was won by South Korea.

The first meeting in Costa Rica with FIFA regarding the organization of the world cup will be between September and october this year.

The Organizing Committee of this world cup will be headed by Yolanda Camacho, parallel to the Fedefútbol, they'll work on the topics of communication and competition.

"What remains is to work to give a message to the world that in Costa Rica we do things right, is a commitment to the country and the world," said the leader of the organization.

The possibilities for a country like Costa Rica to host the World Cup are slim, because we are a small country but it may become the perfect opportunity to show that Costa Rica can handle this big responsibility, because it will put the country in the eyes of the world."

This is the first time a World Championship will be held in Costa Rica and this a great growing opportunity for the country in order to show the organization and the unparallel Costa Rica Real Estate Options.

For its part, the president of the Republic, Laura Chnchilla, said "it is a privilege to host, has the first woman President of my country, an event for young women in the world and receive each of the 16 teams. To share with them their dreams of reaching the trophy, as the world's best in its category and further recognize their hard work, respect, passion and discipline."
